Supervisory Board

The supervisory board of AM-Pharma currently consists of the following individuals:

 

Prof Eric Claassen PhD, Chairman

Prof. Eric Claassen PhD, Chairman of the Board, is Professor of Cellular Immunology/Immunomodulation at the Medical Faculty of the Erasmus University in Rotterdam.

Early in 2002, Eric Claassen was also appointed Professor “Entrepreneurship in Life Sciences” (BioPartner chair) at the Free University of Amsterdam. In addition, he is a director of Medifocus Lelystad B.V., a medical and biotech consultancy firm. Prior to that, he was Professor of the Veterinary Faculty of the University of Utrecht. Until 1 September 2001 he was Director of Research and deputy CEO at the Dutch Institute for Animal Science and Health. Prof. Claassen is an author of over 175 papers, more than 120 of which in peer reviewed journals, and an inventor of several patents.

Bart Bergstein

Bart Bergstein is Managing Partner at Forbion Capital Partners.

Bart Bergstein holds a degree in construction engineering from the Technical University of Eindhoven. At ABN AMRO he has gained broad international experience in finance and business administration. Bart Bergstein has a seven years’ experience in Venture Capital. Furthermore he holds supervisory board positions in Seed Capital Investment Fund 2, Licentec, Ardana Biosciences (Edinburgh) and is executive member of the board of the BioPartner Facility Fund.

Frank Morich, MD

Frank Morich, MD, is Chief Executive Officer of Innogenetics.

Frank Morich, obtained a medical degree from the University of Marburg (Germany). After two years’ of post-doctoral research in immunology and cellular biology, he joined Bayer in 1982 and within the Pharmaceutical Division held roles such as Head of Research and Development as well as Head of Global Product Development. In 1998, he became the General Manager of Bayer AG’s Consumer Care Division. Two years later, he was promoted to be a member of the Boards of Bayer AG (Germany) and Bayer Corp. (United States). In 2002, he became the Chairman of the Board of Management and Executive Committee of the newly created Bayer Healthcare AG. Frank Morich was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Innogenetics on January 1, 2005. Prior to joining Innogenetics, he was CEO of AM Pharma. Frank Morich is currently a member of the Senate of Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft for Applied Research as well as a non-executive director of Innate Pharma (France).

Robert Schier, PhD

Dr. Robert Schier is Investment Director and Partner at Inventages Venture Capital.

Dr. Schier holds a master degree in pharmaceutical science, a Ph.D. in applied microbiology and cell genetics from Universities in Vienna (Austria) and an M.B.A. from the European University (Germany). After his postgraduate research at the University of California San Francisco, he held several positions in research, product development and management at European Biotech Companies MorphoSys AG and Xerion Pharmaceuticals AG. Prior to joining Inventages in 2002, Dr. Schier has been Investment Director Life Sciences at VCH Equity Group AG in Germany. Dr. Schier is currently also a member of Inventages´ Investment Committee and serves on the Board of Directors of several portfolio companies in the U.S. and Europe.
